The presidential elections were held in Russia on March 4, 2012. After processing more than 99% of the protocols Vladimir Putin was elected as President of Russian Federation. He received 63.75% of the votes, or more than 45 million votes. In second place - the leader of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov - 17.19% (more than 12 million votes). He is followed by: businessman Mikhail Prokhorov - 7.82% (more than 5 million votes), leader of the Liberal Democratic party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky - 6,23% (more than 4 million votes) and leader of the Party A JUST RUSSIA Sergey Mironov - 3,85% (more than 2.7 million votes). Voter turnout in the elections was 65.3%.

On 5 May, A JUST RUSSIA’S party leader, Sergei Mironov, held a press conference at Interfax’s press center concerning the results of Russia’s presidential election. 

Sergei Mironov, leader of the political party A JUST RUSSIA, turned to the voters with words of gratitude for their support in Russia’s Presidential election.

During the hour before the closing of the last polling station in Russia, A Just Russia’s party chairman Nikolai Levichev replied to journalists’ questions at the pre-election headquarters of the presidential candidate Sergei Mironov.
