Representatives of Youth Union ‘A Just Force’ took part in the 2nd BRICS Youth Summit
Representatives of socialist democratic youth union ‘A Just Force’ took part in the 2nd BRICS Youth Summit hosted by the city of Guwahati, the capital of the Indian state of Assam, on 1-3 July 2016. The summit resulted in adopting the ‘Guwahati BRICS Youth Summit Call to Action’.
Youth Union ‘A Just Force’ was represented by Dmitry Miller, Chairman of the SDYU Moscow branch, and Milena Grigoryan, who made a presentation at the panel devoted to youth participation in governance.
The JR youth wing representatives shared their experience of attracting young people to decision-making and governing a state. In particular, Dmitry Miller, the youngest State Duma candidate from Party A JUST Russia, made a proposal to include in the Call a clause on ensuring ballot access for young leaders.
The summit panel discussions focused on four thematic areas. As a result, the delegates finalized and adopted the document to implement the most significant decisions made at the summit: on creation of a united youth volunteer corps, establishment of the BRICS Youth Secretariat in virtual form, promotion of the model of BRICS Summer School, and creation of better conditions for successful development of youth entrepreneurship.
